Für Win98SE gibt es auch einen fdisk-Patch. Dann sind 64 GB auch kein Problem mehr. Aber sehr praktisch und viel schneller ist PartitionMagic.3) Welches Tool würdet ihr zu dafür nutzen?
...
Und da Fdisk mit Platten über 64GB Probleme hat, würde dann ja nur noch das Seagate-Tool in Frage kommen..!?

Kommt aber sehr häufig mit neuen Motherboards und ausserdem gibts das (soweit ich weiß) als trial Version. Die reicht auch

Also ich nehm' meistens die XP Datenträgerverwaltung. NTFS und Fat beherrscht die komplett, auch Fat16. Theoretisch bringt es ja was, die Swap-Partition als erstes auf die Platte zu machen (physikalisch der schnellste Bereich) und dann in FAT16 zu formatieren. Praktisch bringt es aber rein gar nichts, hab's getestet. Mit 512 Mb RAM reicht auch eine von Windoof verwaltete Swap-Datei, Unterschiede konnte ich jedenfalls nicht bemerken, das ist eher theoretischer Natur.

aha, hat meine ibm auch ne gute seite.Die wird tatsächlich schweineheiss,
die wird nämlich gerade handwarm. mit d-temp 36°C.
leider lassen hohe temperaturen hdd's auch schnell altern.
