hab gestern an den ibm support mal ne frage gestellt, obs möglich wär, 4x 700er aus nem ibm einzubauen, da man das board ja jumpern muss und es nur 400 450 und 500 unterstützt

The processor option you were inquiring about is only supported on the 6000r/x350

Ist doch bei Mainboards oft auch so dass im Handbuch steht es gehen max Xmhz und dann gehen doch mehr.

ich erhalte vermutlich

4x Xeons 500/2m 12,5/Stück
4x Xeon VRMs zu 5¤
>4x Seagate SCA Platten je 18Gig zu je 15¤

jetzt muss aber auch der ram dran glauben:

ich weis nur nicht, welcher reinkommt.

dachte immer, das es sd ram ist, jetzt hat mir die KM Quad/Dual Referenz (Marsman) gesagt, er würde glauben, das da Edo Dimm reinkommt.

Was meint ihr?

Kann ich mir nur schwer vorstellen. Schau doch mal nach wieviel Volt die Steine bekommen, sollte auf dem Slot stehen. Wenns 5.0V sind sollten es EDO sein, wenns 3.3V sind SDRAM.

sind 3,3er pc100 steine, wusst ichs doch hätte halt mir mal die arbeit machen sollen, die drei teile auszubauen

Aber wenn ich mir das hier so anschaue braucht Dein Server SD Ram, Reg + ECC

Der Netfinity kann nur mit den Xeon II / III mit "Drake" und "Tanner" Kern umgehen. Die neueren ab 600 MHz haben einen komplett neuen Core und benötigen auch andere Kernspannungen, siehe auch hier

Dann mal viel Erfolg mit diesem Monster, auf dass es bald läuft

klar gehn auch die 550er - steht sogar in der Prozessor Support Liste die der IBM Mensch Dir geschickt hat, nur eben nicht in gescheiter Reihenfolge -> klick

Xeon 400 scheint Standartauslieferung gewesen zu sein, und alle Modelle bis 550 MHz können als Upgrade genommen werden.

Mann ist die IBM Seite verwurschtelt - bis man da mal was gefunden hat

Woher bekommst Du die Xeons so günstig, eBay?

stimmt hab ein 31Y Modell sollte also passen...

problem ist, es stehen manchmal auch widersprüchliche Angaben: z. B. hier

Ich denke dass für die schnelleren Modelle andere VRMs benötigt werden die 2,8V / 5V oder 12V liefern können, die vorgesehenen sind ja bloss für 2V ausgelegt

Ich hab ja hier noch 4 500er 5/12V Prozessoren rumliegen. Mein Englisch ist nicht das beste aber hier steht doch, das man auch 5/12V Cpus einbauen kann, und sie dann laufen oder auch nicht, zumindest, wenn das Board dann die vrms ausschalten kann?

Kannst Du mir biiiitte mal die Kontaktadresse von IBM durchgeben? Ich hab mich nun gut 1 Stunde auf deren HP rungequält und ums Verrecken nix gefunden was in irgendeiner Weise einem Kontaktformular oder einer eMail Adresse für Supportanfragen ähnelt.
Ich bekomm noch die Krise, so unordentlich und unstrukturiert wie die IBM Seite ist nichtmal microsoft.com
