Tualatin + Rambus?
Hi,
da ich ja für mich persönlich den oldschool/nostalgie Sommer ausgerufen habe und mal so rumgeschaut habe was ich hier noch rumliegen habe ist mir ein Tualatin System in den Sinn gekommen.
Da ich noch 1GB Rambus Speicher (4x256MB) "übrig" habe war die Überlegung: Gibt es ein Board, dass was taugt, Tualatins unterstützt und 4 RIMM Bänke hat? Noch lieber wäre mit ja ein Dual Board. (So ein Dual Slot1 Board mit Slotket Adaptern und 2 Kings )
Könnt ihr mich bei dieser Idee unterstützen?

Ein P3B-D Hats nie gegeben. Es bleibt nur das P3C-D. Das hat keinen Dual Channel sondern nur Single Channel, erst der i840 brachte Dual Channel. Für die alten Boards benötigst du aber 16Bit Rambus 32Bit Funktioniert nicht.

Da ich nun einen Celeron 1300 mit 256MB Rambus am Laufen habe, möchte ich hier mal meinen Senf kundtun. Für einen Celeron ist Rambus erstmal nicht so die allererste Wahl, besonders bei solchen "Großen" Tulerons wie dem 1300, da diese sich eh nicht gut übertakten lassen. Und ohne Übertaktung macht Rambus einfach keinen Sinn, weil der Datenbus ja nur 133MHz schnell ist, Rambus allerdings 300 oder 400. Es herrscht also gepflegtes Gähnen, auf der Ramseite. Bei einem Pentium III mit Tualatinkern mag das schon anders aussehen, kann ich derzeit aber nicht nachprüfen.
Allerdings frag ich mich gerade ob es ein i820 Board mit 4 Speichersteckplätzen gibt. Ich bezweifle das irgendwie.
